Garden quartz is a natural gemstone formed over millions of years.
Its inclusions are tiny mineral deposits, crystals, or sediments that became trapped inside clear quartz during its growth.
Natural holes, chips, pits, or small cavities are absolutely normal — they’re part of the stone’s authentic formation process.
These are not flaws, but proof of the stone’s authenticity — a sign that the stone was created by Mother Nature, not in a lab.
These delicate “perfect imperfections” arise through a combination of geological events such as trapped inclusions, differential growth, and natural dissolution processes.
Inclusions may dissolve, separate, or shrink away from the quartz host, leaving small voids.
Gas or fluid bubbles can form internal cavities.
Microfractures may open into tiny holes.
Fluctuations in temperature or pressure deep underground can create minute surface chips.
Sometimes, these features are simply the result of the quartz’s natural growth pattern itself.
Stones with interesting openings and cavities are often more attractive to collectors as these unique formations add depth, character, and individuality to each piece.
